Essential IV:

Translating and Integrating

Scholarship into Practice

I chose examples of how I have articulated my professional practice through out this degree. Resolving practice problems must start with an assessment of where the problem may lie. You can use of number of ways to assess practice problems such as interview, witness the work being done in real time, implement a survey, or even hold a focus group. Data is the bottom line. If we do not show where we were before we implemented a project, how will be know if it was successful?

Using different types of assessment tools will allow the leaders to create a solution, but never leave out those who are in the trenches doing the work. The best person to help develop a solution, is the one it impacts the most.

I have found when you share the "why's" behind implementing change it helps prevent the majority of frustration. Sharing where the evidence comes from elevates the person's understanding from just being told to complete a change to the person acknowledging and embracing the best practice culture.
